Dear Moore Client,

We last sent you a note on March 20 describing our status in the light of COVID-19 – and, with the speed of recent events, that seems like a lifetime ago.  We wanted to further update you on our status and invite you to reach out to any of us with comments, questions, or requests.  We are here to help.

  1. Our landscape operations continue.  We have been classified as an essential service under Governor Pritzker’s Stay-at-Home and related orders.  As such, unless things change, we will be out in the coming weeks as the landscape springs back to life, ensuring your property, is safe, functional, and beautiful.
  2. We are taking many precautions to protect our crews, employees, and the general public.
    1. As has been our policy for many weeks now, any ill individuals are being asked to stay at home.
    2. Our crews have been trained in safe distancing and in frequent hand washing and are provided soap and water to wash their hands while on the go throughout the day.
    3. Each crew member has been issued gloves and masks to protect themselves while riding in their crew trucks (mask required) and, as they prefer, when working on properties.
    4. We are limiting the number of crew members per truck and have increased direct reporting to sites wherever possible.
    5. We are washing the inside of our trucks and cleaning our tools at the end of each work day.
  3. We understand that your landscape priorities and budgets may be shifting during this time.  Please reach out to your account executive or any of us on the Moore team if you would like to discuss options to meet your needs.

We are committed to safety and also to doing our job, and we appreciate the trust you have placed in us in caring for your landscape and acting responsibly during this time.

Most importantly, we hope you and yours are safe and healthy and stay that way.

Agenda April 2020

(No this is not an April Fool’s joke, etc. Just an unfortunate coincidence.)

The board is meeting virtually using Zoom conferencing software. If any residents wish to attend it has to be through Zoom.

How to participate in the meeting using Zoom:

1. Usually you will receive a Zoom invite from the meeting’s host, whether via email or text message. In the invite, they will say “Join Zoom Meeting” follow by a clickable link, zoom.us. Click on it.

2. You can use zoom on your phone, laptop, computers and tablets.
3. If you already have zoom installed, go to step 4. If not, follow instructions provided by your device to install Zoom. It’s very simple.. (phone/tablets, it’ll automatically take you to the App Store. For Computers, a pop up will ask you for installation)
4. Zoom is free to use, and they don’t even require an account. They’ll ask to enter your name, so that others in the meeting can know who you are. (see pic below)
5. Audio choices: if you join with your phone/tablet/laptop: since these devices have both cameras and microphones, you’re good to go. It will start with both microphone and camera OFF, so don’t worry. It will only turn on when you click on the corresponding icon at the bottom.
For you who join using computer, it may not have a microphone, so if you want to talk, you’d have to use your phone to call into a toll-free number. see pic below.
That’s it. Hope to see you all there. Contact me if you need further help to set it up in advance. Dave  202-355-5886.

IMPORTANT: regarding Waste Management recycling: Due to COVID-19, all recycling must fit into the recycling bin/box to be collected. It would help the garbage man as they can use their truck to operate the bins without them having to personally handling it with their hands, thus reducing their exposure (if any).

If you need help with groceries, child care, etc. please use the NextDoor app. You should have received an invitation to it. It is the quickest way, other than phone, to ask for help.

If you did not get an invitation then go to https://nextdoor.com/g/c2u17gxkm/

Hi Linden Tree Lane Community,

We hope that all is well with you and your family. This is a difficult and strange time for all of us, regarding what’s going on with the Coronavirus in the US and government’s lock down order. Please stay safe, wash your hands, and together (but not too physically close together!) we shall overcome this.
The board has discussed on ways to help our community to get through the “shelter at home” period. We have older residents who are the high risk group of the virus, people with small children at home, etc.. Please join the below Nextdoor group created for us living in Linden Tree Lane. Upon joining you can post requests, answer other people’s questions or concerns, help each other out. I’m sure a lot of older folks who are (and should) hesitant to go outside for grocery shopping could use some help if some neighbor can pick up their shopping list for them.
(our usual maintenance repair request still go through our website!)
Secondly, our next Board meeting is coming up on Wednesday, April 1st, 7pm. With the current situation, we decided to have it online in Zoom, an online meeting service. It’s free and easy for everyone to join.
Invitation, instructions to use Zoom and an agenda of this meeting will be sent out soon. If you have any agenda to discuss in the meeting, please let me know so I can add it.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email any of the board members.

Thank you,
Dave Lai

Waste Management Homeowners Association Customer

RE: Notice of Force Majeure Event and/or Commercial Impracticability Preventing Full Contract Performance
Coronavirus/COVID-19 and Resulting Declarations of Emergency

Dear Valued Customer:

Waste Management – and especially its hard-working front-line employees – are working around the clock to ensure that we can continue to serve our customers and communities safely and with the least disruption reasonably possible in the face of the many challenges created by the COVID-19 virus, the resulting Declarations of Emergency, and the many health and safety orders and guidelines to which all responsible citizens are attempting to comply. As Waste Management works earnestly to continue to provide collection and processing services to our communities, the health and safety of our employees, customers and communities are our highest priority.

Likewise, Waste Management is striving to comply with the federal and state health and safety directives that have been issued in this time of emergency. One example of the operational changes implemented by Waste Management as a result of this unprecedented emergency occurred on March 18, 2020, when Waste Management temporarily closed residential call centers to promote social distancing among our call center employees to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are actively coordinating remote operations to serve our customers during this situation with the goal of resuming residential call handling from work-at-home employees as soon as possible. Although many of our municipal contracts require Waste Management to provide residential customer support call centers, the decision to temporarily suspend operation of these centers and shift to a work-at-home capability was the direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the states of emergency that exists.

The COVID-19 situation is very fluid, and Waste Management expects, unfortunately, that other disruptions to our contract performance may occur in the coming days as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic and governmental declarations. As a result, we are providing this notice to advise you that the COVID-19 pandemic is a force majeure event under our contract and/or unforeseeable event making full contract performance commercially impractical under the present circumstances. While we have not yet experienced any significant disruptions in essential collection or processing services, we anticipate that such disruptions may be inevitable, such as:

  • Quarantines at, or shutdowns of, Waste Management facilities;
  • Shelter-in-place orders that impact travel and business operations;
  • Shutdown of Waste Management and/or third-party recycling and

    disposal facilities that restrict our ability to operate normally;

  • Worker shortages because of quarantines or sickness; and
  • Fuel and other critical equipment and supply shortages.

At this time, no one can reliably predict the length of this emergency event, when potential service disruptions may occur, or how long they may last. Waste Management will continue to provide prompt notice of our operational capabilities and changes as they occur. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in these challenging times. If you have any questions, please contact your Waste Management public sector representative.

Sincerely,
WASTE MANAGEMENT, INC.

Paul Bickford
